Nassim Assefi
Grantwriting & Strategy Consultant
Nassim Assefi, a second-generation Iranian American, is a fundraiser, global health physician, NGO strategist, content curator, events producer, and novelist. Her interest in training speakers began once she became a TED Global Fellow in 2009, followed by many years of curation, speaking coaching, stage hosting, and educational video content production at TED/TEDMED. Assefi has been a professor and mentor at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, and Nagasaki University. She speaks five languages, including Arabic, and has been passionate about peace activism ever since her parents’ home province was destroyed in the Iran-Iraq War. She once ran in a peace marathon in Beirut while 7 months pregnant and then curated and coached a TED talk by the remarkable founder of that peace marathon (May El Khalil), which has been viewed over 5 million times.
